Ubuntu GDM Re-Design?
It seems like the Ubuntu GDM; the place where you initially log in is gettign a re-design. The default login for GDM on Ubuntu looks like this:
You type you user name in hit enter, then type your password in and hit enter, then you start to log on. The new system allows you to have a grid of pictures of all your users. You click the picture then your picture gets larger and you type your password, and your logged in.
It will look somethign liek this:

Then when you select your picture:

This seems like a nifty more visual appealing way to log in for people with multiple user accounts. Personally for me, I am the only one who uses my computer and I only have one account. But I guess it still looks nifty. You can read more about this here on the Ubuntu Wiki.

What options do you need to look for when choosing a free file hosting website
Online file hosting is a new fad. People use online file hosting websites to host images for there own website, to share files, to back up files, or just for transferring files from one computer to another. Online file hosting can make life managing files very convenient if you can find a file hosting website that fits your needs……

Dell Doesn’t Advertise it’s Ubuntu Line
If you have been living under a Rock and didnt know it, Dell has a Ubuntu Line up of computers. Most Linux people know this already, but it seems like Dell doesn’t want to let the general public in on their Ubuntu installed computers. When visiting the Dell Home and Office Laptop section of their website, there is a “narrow your selection” bar on the left. So I expanded the Operating System drop down expecting to see Ubuntu, but I only saw Windows xp and Windows Vista….
So why doesn’t Dell just sell its Ubuntu laptops equally as it sells its windows computers? I thought they were selling Ubuntu to give people choice, but it isn’t a choice open to everyone.

Trying a Paid to Click Website
It seems like most websites online about making money are full of crap and fake etc…I stumbled on One called Bux.to. I signed up and am going to give it a try and see If I can actually make any significant amount of money. Along the way I plan on reporting everything on here, the ups and the downs. IF it really works or if its a scam. I will post pictures of everything,g from me requesting payment, to me cashing out my check etc..
Here is how bux.to seems to work. You get paid 1 cent for every ad you click. You get about 10 ads per day, so thats 10 cents a day. When you click on an ad you have to wait 30 seconds before you can click on the next one. The real kicker is that every person you refer will earn you 1 cent per every ad they click. So basically if you get a decent amount of referrals you could make a decent amount of money that could keep you going.
It has a clean interface unlike a lot of make money online websites that I have seen. So it is pleasant to keep going back to click on ads. If you would like to help me out in testing this, please sign up as one of my referrals here.
I will be keeping you all posted along the way, and also I have some thoughts on their business model I will also share with you all.
I guesse you could say I am desperate for that flickr pro account….lol
Update: bux.to is a scam read this post here. (Sorry)

Amarok Getting a facelift?
Reports have been buzzing that Amarok has been looking for artists so they can make Amarok beautiful. I personally love applications that look great. I tend to lean toward looks rather then usability, sometimes which can be bad. But Amarok has always been my favorite music player for Linux and I can’t wait to use it when it starts getting its face lift, here is one screen shot:

Website reviews: Digg.com
Digg was created at the start of the web 2.0 boom. It was created as a social news site where users submit news and vote the best news articles up the pipeline. How it works is anyone can submit a news article that is found online. Then users browsing the site who find an article interesting can “digg” it. The more diggs and article gets the more popular it becomes and the most popular articles appear on Digg’s front page……

Facebook Chat Cracking Under Pressure
Facebook can’t handle their own poularty. It seems the new chat feature on facebook can’t handle all the users on facebook. I will admit for the first day or two after it’s release it was runnign smooth and well. Not only did it run well, but I also found it extreamly convenient.
Anywho recently I have been having problems with facebook chat like these:
and….
I find this very unfortunate especially when I really needed to tell someone something…. Has anyone else been experiencing the same problems?

Where Do I host Photos?
As some of you know I have been having trouble trying to get myself a flickr pro account. But I still use a fair amount of images on this blog. So is anyone curios where I host them? Well I will let you all in on my free secret. I use a little sire called Photie:
Photie lets you host an unlimited number of photos which can be of any size! So pretty much my blog is set as long as Photie is around. Photie also lets you use how many views each photo receives, which can be of interest to the stats junky. The only problem I can see with Photie is if they for some reason fail and go out of business then all my photos in all my posts will disappear…..so lets all hope for the best of Photie!
Although I use Photie for my blog I am still hoping and praying to find away to get me a flickr account for all my personal photos to share with friends and family.
