Bringing Aim to Awn! (Finally)
Since the start of Awn I have wanted to bring Aim to Awn, to chat with. I just thought it would be neat. Somone hacked together a small thing with the meebo iphone version and awn. Although I suggested that idea, I found the iphone version of meebo lacking.
since I pretty much know nothing about coding, I decided to decided to edit that applet and make it into something different, more pleasing to me. So after trial and error with a bunch of the code, I was editing, I finally got something to work for me!!
Here are some screen shots:
The nice thing this does is, it tabs all the open chats on it, and you can easily talk to multiple people at the same time. Thats one thing the meebo one didn’t do that bugged me.
I am having trouble packaging it together for easy install, but once I get that I will post it for others to test.
Things I still want to accomplish with it are have the icon bounce upon gettign a message.
If you would like to help me with this, and maybe teach me somethings along the way, leave a comment. Hope you like what you all see, and stay tuned for updates, and the release.

gOS Goes with Awn!
If Awn hast been growing fast enough through the Linux world now gOS is shipping with Awn! If you don’t know already gOS was the linux operating system that was pre-installed on the wall mart computers. Since gOS is now switching to using Awn instead of the dock from enlightenment it will be interesting to see if there keeping Enlightenment or switching to gnome… Under the Technology section of the gOS website, Gnome is listed under the latest version of gOS while enlightenment is located under the older version… Not only is Awn being used in the latest version of gOS but they are also indegrating My SPace thign sinto Awn.

Detachable To-Do list for Awn
On my old blog I did a post about the Remeber the Milk to-do list applet for Awn. I thought it was great and extreamly convienent and productive applet for use on Awn. But now there is another to-do list applet created for Awn but it can be detached from the dock. Basically you just drag it off the dock and now it looks/works a little like a screenlet!
The applet and the youtube video were crated by sharkbait on the Awn forums. To see the original post on the Awn forum for this applet go here.

Awn Dock Review
When you first think of Apple, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the dock. If you are not an avid Apple user or just don’t know what a dock is, it’s the nifty looking application launcher at the bottom of every apple computer. It launches programs and keeps track of opened an minimized ones. The question is are there any great docks to use on the Linux operating system….
