HTC hero with Sense

HTC has it the big money this time with their new HTC Sense which is the first customized Android interface for a phone. HTC took android and made it really pretty and then put it on a really pretty slick phoen called the HTC Hero. Not only is the HTC Hero with sense the coolest thing ever (at least in my eyes) but it also will be the first phone with Flash support out of the box! Yes I did say Flash! The Palm Pre and Iphone just got slapped in the face!

Here is a nice picture stolen from crunch gear:

This phone with the Android Google Voice App is goign to be Killer! Also if you want to see more here is also a video from crunch gear:

If anyone finds out when this could be released and on what carrier please post it in the comments, I would be very much appreciative! Thanks!

In Depth Google Voice Review

Google a long time ago bought a company called Grand Central which eventually stopped giving out invites when Google took them over. For a long time Grand Central was in the dark like it fell off the map. There weren’t any blog posts or updates given by anyone and the site seemed almost dead except for the fact that it still worked for users who were lucky enough to get an account before Google took it over.

Google Voice Coming Soon!

Google Voice, which many people have been impatiently awaiting is finally showing signs of coming alive to a great deal more users. So if your one of the 300 million Americans (Google Voice is only in the US Right Now) waiting for a number your in luck! According to Network World:

Google last month reserved 1 million phone numbers with Level 3, signaling that it may finally be ready to roll out its long-anticipated Google Voice service.

This I never really thought abotu before, Google needs numbers to be able to let users use its service. This is probably why it is taking so long for people to be invited to the Google Voice service because Google is limited by the ammount of numbers they own and can give out.

GVDialer Update for Blackberry comming Soon

The Gvdialer a calling application for Google Voice that can be used with the blackberry will have an updated coming up which will include integrated texting. Here is what the GVdialer team has to say:

We originally planned to release the version for Beta by the end of this week (the 19th). However due to some last minute feature additions there will be some further delay. We expect the version to be out for Beta by the 26th.

Also here is a comment from the GV Dialer team on what new features we can look forward to:

We are sorry to keep you waiting, but hope that the new version, which includes SMS support, as well as data-triggered call back from the GV platform, will make you happy.

Google Chrome As Smooth as Chrome on Linux

Google Chrome is coming along smoothly for Linux. I am trying out the current early release for Google Chrome on linux and it is actually running really smooth and lightning fast.

google-chrome-linux

And there is the proof that Google Chrome is working on Linux! I am actually running it on Ubuntu! yay, so how does it run you ask? So far I have not had any crashes or errors running it.

But just because I say that don’t go flocking (No pun intended about the browser flock) over to Chrome it is still unstable for a reason in Googles eyes and although it runs it is not finished yet.

For example the pop-up blocker either isn’t implemented yet or not finished yet because a pop up came up while I checked out mlb.com for baseball scores. Also Google gives you this message when you first run the development version of Chrome:

I would say once Flash gets in into this Google Chrome pre releases then it will be something I will stick with on Linux. Once Google Chrome comes out to Linux and Mac the browser wars will really heat up, and I don’t think Chrome is going to melt.

Google Squared: Next Generation Search

Google Squared is officially live, if you haven’t heard of what Google Squared is it is pretty much Googles Response to Wolframalpha the computational search engine.Just looking at Google Squared it seems its a pretty neat Idea. But it still obviously is beta since it is in Google Labs. Google Squared gets the squared added to it because it gives you results in an excel type of view; a bunch of squares filled with data….well maybe its more rectangular (Maybe Google should change its name to “Google Rectangle”)

I really like the Android Operating system and am thinking it its going to get really really good when Google really integrates Google voice with it.

May Venture Into Google Voice now….

If you saw my post yesterday I said I would not use my new coveted Google voice account just yet, but that now may have changed.

It seems that GVdialer has a beta of a new version of gvdialer that integrates texting, So I am told. If this is true and it is done right I would gladly use this beta version of gvdialer along with my blackberry storm. I will keep you all posted, I hope this rumor is true and hopefully will have some answers for you all later today and hopefully I will be happily useing my Google Voice!

Why I will wait to use my Google Voice Account

I have been one of the lucky few to be able to get a coveted Google Voice Account from Google. It is an amazing and powerful free thingamajiger for doing all sorts of stuff with phones.

I can use an app called gv dialer on my blackberry storm to seamless integrate my Google voice number to call from my phone. The one problem is that texting is not seamlessly integrated into my phone and I have to use the Google voice mobile website from my phone to text. Or get each of my contacts 409 numbers which if you don’t what what those numbers are thats a whole another story.

So untill Google Voice seamlessly integrates texting onto my phone, I will hold my account until then. But once they do I can not wait because it will be happily using my Google Voice account. Untill then lets hope Google Moves fast.
